Grenades, ammunition seized from hideout in Ramban

Security forces today busted a militant hideout and seized a cache of arms and ammunition, including grenades, in mountainous Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here said.

Security forces on Friday busted a militant hideout and seized a cache of arms and ammunition, including grenades, in mountainous Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here said.

"Police and security forces thwarted a militant plot to carry out terror strikes by effecting recovery of grenades, besides arms and ammunition, from a hideout during a search operation conducted in Lijnaal, Bhimdassa area of Ramban tehsil," official sources said.

They said a search operation was conducted on tip-off in Lijnaal area and the hideout was busted.
The recoveries included 2.5kg explosive, one AK-56 body cover, 166 AK rounds, four rounds of .12 bore countrymade pistol, one single barrel gun, one AK magazine, one UBGL, four UBGL grenades, one ammunition jacket, a pouch, one combat pouch, one binocular cover, one .303 gun bolt etc.

"The area was cordoned and searches were intensified but no arrest has been made so far," sources added.
