Maruti Suzuki Workers' Union president Ram Niwas and secretary Kuldeep Jhangu told mediapersons that they have demanded an impartial judicial probe into the incident and release of employees arrested by police during violence at the Manesar plant on July 18, 2012.
After the incident, the company had sacked 546 regular employees and 1,800 contractual workers. Elaborate security arrangements were put in place by district administration near Mansarovar Park, where protesters gathered to hold a demonstration.
