Talking to the gathering at event MP Kher said that banks were playing pivotal role in partnering with government on schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, aimed at financial inclusion of each and every household. She exhorted the Bank of Baroda for giving its services throughout the country with complete efficiency and transparency.
Deputy General Manager of Chandigarh Region, S B Prasad and Deputy Regional Manager VP Sirivastva welcomed MP Kirron Kher. Head of new branch at sector 40, Bhawna Kumar said that under the Jan Dhan Yojana the new branch has already opened 1000 bank accounts. She added that it was the first woman branch of the Chandigarh wherein the women and senior citizens would be given special care and support for banking.
She added that this new branch opened 1700 accounts and mobilized business of Rs 1 crore, under. On this occasion all the branch heads of tricity and other people were present.
Officials informed that bank is opening five more branches in tricity before January next year at sector 30, Sector 37, Khuda Lahora, Mansa Devi complex, Manimajra and Sector 20, Panchkula.
