In an all-CHART final, Krishan and Naresh took 5-1 lead in the first set, but Shashikant and Bhupender made a strong comeback to level the score at 5-5, and then 6-6. In tiebreaker, the latter won 8-6.
In the second set, Shashikant and Bhupender nosed ahead 4-1. However, Krishan and Naresh levelled the scores. In the tiebreaker, the latter team won 7-2. In super-tiebreaker, Krishan and Naresh raced with 8-4 lead, but Shashikant and Bhupender made it 9-9.
Thereafter, Krishan and Naresh won the next two points to win the decider, and the match, 11-9. Earlier in the day, Shashikant had defeated Bhupender 6-3, 6-1 to win the boys’ singles title, while Princy Panchal beat Nikita Kharangra 7-6(5), 3-6, 6-2 to win the girls’ crown.
