Legal literacy camp held at Old Manali village

Addressing members of three Mahila Mandals of Old Manali and Dhungri villages, civil judge and chairman of the committee Sandeep Singh Sihag said the needy people must take benefit of free legal aid. Those whose income was below Rs 1 lakh per annum, those belonging to SC and ST categories, minors, women, physically challenged and victim of natural calamity were entitled to free legal aid. He added under the scheme, lawyer's fee and expenses of witnesses were borne by the govt.
Sihag also urged the people, particularly, youngsters to strictly obey the traffic rules. He said that the vehicles should not be driven unless the driver has a driving licence.
Besides, a local lawyer CS Thakur spoke on female foeticide and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act and JR Thakur from revenue department threw light on the procedure for demarcation of land. Hukam Ram, pradhan of Old Manali and Chuni Lal Thakur, up-Pradhan of the Old Manali were prominent among those who addressed the gathering.
