MC cancels Diwali fair in Sector 34
To mourn the death of 35-year-old SAD-BJP councilor Malkiat Singh, the municipal corporation on Thursday cancelled Diwali mela, which was scheduled to start from October 14.

To mourn the death of 35-year-old SAD-BJP councilor Malkiat Singh, the municipal corporation on Thursday cancelled Diwali mela, which was scheduled to start from October 14.
Anoop Sunny Gill, chairman of Diwali mela committee, proposed in the MC house meeting that they should cancel the event as they had lost a young councillor. It was time to express solidarity with the family of the deceased. The members of the house agreed to it.
It was for the first time that MC was planning to hold mela on its own from October 14 to 23.
