MC to check water misuse from today
The municipal corporation of Chandigarh will be starting its drive to check wastage of potable water supplied to city residents during morning hours (5.30am to 9am) from April 15 to June 30.
The municipal corporation of Chandigarh will be starting its drive to check wastage of potable water supplied to city residents during morning hours (5.30am to 9am) from April 15 to June 30.
The MC has formed 14 teams comprising three members each to challan people misusing potable water and a fine of Rs 2,000 will be levied upon defaulters.
Dos and don'ts
* Cars can be washed with the help of buckets and not water pipes from 5.30am to 9am
* Washing of courtyards and watering of lawns banned during morning hours
* Residents supposed to check wastage or misuse of water due to overflow from overhead or underground water tanks, leakage in pipeline from ferrule to water meters, leaks and overflow from desert coolers
* No direct installation and use of booster pumps on the main water supply line; defaulters to invite action
