New govt's maiden Vidhan Sabha session from Nov 3
The first Vidhan Sabha session of the new BJP government in Haryana will open at 2pm on November 3, chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said here on Monday.
Addressing his first press conference after assuming the charge and presiding over the first cabinet meeting, Khattar said the cabinet had authorised the chief minister to approve both the presenting of any legislative business before the House and the governor address to be delivered on November 4.
MDU chair in name of former deputy CM
Speaking about the cabinet decisions, Khattar said Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, had been given a chair in the name of former deputy chief minister Dr Mangal Sein on his birth anniversary on Monday (October 27). The government would observe October 31 as national unity day to pay tributes to freedom fighter Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary.
All schools, colleges and universities in the state have orders to hold the celebrations.
Swachh Haryana drive
Haryana Day (November 1) would be the beginning of statewide cleanliness campaign Swachh Haryana linked to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. It will continue till November 7 in all districts. All ministers and legislators will participate.
Stating that the cabinet had decided to review all complaints related to paddy procurement, the CM said action would follow in its next meeting. Asked about the allotment of portfolios to new ministers, Khattar said there would be no delay.
