The Registering and Licensing Authority (RLA) has begun postal delivery of the registration certificates (RCs) and driving licences (DLs) with effect from Ocotober 1.
Officials said all applications processed from October 1 would be delivered by post. The physical delivery of RCs and DLs was only allowed for the applications submitted till September 30.
The delivery time has, however, increased with the postal service. On Tuesday, applicants were given one month time for the delivery.
Rajesh Ahuja, a resident, said now, city residents would not have to visit the RLA office time and again. Besides, it would further check the authenticity of the applicants.
He said since it was a new experiment, the authorities should ensure the delivery on time. Any delay beyond the prescribed date would only hassle the residents.
As per the information, RLA tied up with the department of posts to deliver these documents in a sealed envelope along with an enclosed letter.Officials said approximately 500 RCs and DLs were made in a day, which made the monthly delivery of around 15,000 documents per month.
