Parsoon Aggarwal, 27, whose body was found on Siswan road on Thursday, was shot dead.
Parsoon, who worked as a client tech support associate with Dell, SAS Nagar, was a resident of Patiala. He along with his female friend Anuradha alias Anu had gone for a drive on Wednesday evening when they were allegedly intercepted at Siswan by a few unidentified persons whose faces were covered.
According to sources, a bullet had pierced through his chest, which could have led to his death. Sources added that after the murder, the assailants had dumped the body under the bridge.
Suspecting Anuradha's involvement in the murder, deceased's brother Saurab Aggarwal had named her Anuradha as an accused in the complaint given to the police.
The police had registered a case of kidnapping on Wednesday after Anuradha approached them. After the recovery of the body dumped under a bridge at Siswan, the FIR was amended and on the statement of Saurabh, Anuradha was booked for suspicion. The police are questioning Anuradha.
Anuradha, a resident of Burail, had been working as client tech support associate with Parsoon for the past about six months. In her statement to the police, she said after being intercepted she managed to escape and hid in nearby bushes, while Prasoon was whisked away by unidentified men. She claimed that she also heard the sound of a few gunshots thereafter.
“The family is suspecting Anuradha behind the murder. Investigations are on and we are probing all angles and possibilities which could lead to Parsoon's death,” SAS Nagar SSP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said.
Prasoon, Anuradha spent entire day together
According to sources, Parsoon had picked up Anuradha from near her house on Wednesday in his Santro car. During Anuradha's preliminary questioning, she told the police that both of them spend the entire day together. After shopping and watching a movie, they had dinner at a roadside dhaba before they went towards Siswan.
The sources added that two Honda Activa-borne youths intercepted them and frisked Parsoon towards the jungle after which Anuradha heard gunshots. Fearing for the worst, she fled the spot and took lift in a truck carrying tomatoes and reached Sector 26.
Car recovered, two mobile phones missing
According to sources, the car belonging to Parsoon has been recovered from near Shahpur village on the Baddi-Pinjore road. Two mobile phones are missing and both are switched off.
The 10-km stretch on the Siswan-Baddi road is notorious for incidents of people with covered faces threatening commuters. The area does not have mobile signal and thus makes it one of the most vulnerable areas. Many youngsters go on adventure trips on this road and can be spotted drinking.
