Demanding a probe into the case, Lal said he belonged to the schedule caste family and the police, who pointed out at his caste and abused him, should be punished. The complainant said a case under provisions of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act should be lodged against the police officials.

Elaborating the incident, he said the police dragged him to the police station, where he was allegedly put behind the bars. He added that during the illegal detention he was beaten mercilessly, resulting in injuries.

The complainant has also accused the police for forcibly pouring liquor into his mouth, before his medical examination.

Meanwhile, Rajgarh deputy superintendent of police (DSP) BS Baragata said he was conducting an investigation into the matter and that the preliminary investigation revealed that the complaint was trying to create nuisance during the district-level Bawan Dwadashi Mela, which was recently held in the area.
