PPCC chief Bajwa's car collides with truck; gunmen thrash driver

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) state president Partap Singh Bajwa’s bodyguards thrashed a truck driver after the leader’s car collided with a truck on the Ambala-Chandigarh highway here on Wednesday. Bajwa was inside the car when the incident took place.

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) state president Partap Singh Bajwa’s bodyguards thrashed a truck driver after the leader’s car collided with a truck on the Ambala-Chandigarh highway here on Wednesday.

Bajwa was inside the car when the incident took place. The traffic remained disrupted for a while when the incident took place.

As per reports, Bajwa was enroute to Chandigarh from Delhi. As the car reached near McDonald chowk after Ghaggar bridge, it collided with an oil tanker after getting skid on coal tar on the road.

Both vehicles stopped after the incident and nearly half a dozen gunmen of Bajwa, who were escorting him in a Scorpio car, pulled out tr uck driver Suresh Kumar, a resident of Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, and thrashed him on the road.

They further bundled him into their car and took him to the police station. Zirakpur police station house officer (SHO) Ravinder Pal Singh said both parties reached the police station and comprised, following which no legal action was taken.
