PU scientists win global laurels consecutively

Pharmaceutical scientists of Panjab University (PU) bagged global laurels second time in a row. The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) has selected the research work carried out by a team led by dean, faculty of pharmaceutical sciences, Bhupinder Singh Bhoop and OP Katare, from University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS) for their research on QbD-based drug delivery.

The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) has selected the research work carried out by a team led by dean, faculty of pharmaceutical sciences, Bhupinder Singh Bhoop and OP Katare, from University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS) for their research on QbD-based drug delivery.

The "QbD and Product Performance Award"from AAPS, a commemorative plaque and a monetary honorarium of $1000 was received by Kaisar Raza at the 2013 annual meeting and exposition of AAPS held at San Antonio, Texas in USA.

Raza completed his PhD on 'QbD-based nano colloidal drug delivery research works in the treatment and management of osteoarthritis under the supervision of Katare and Bhoop. He was later employed as a research scientist at UGC-centre of excellence in nano applications with Bhoop as coordinator.

The award came as a recognition of efforts of the research group in developing a multidisciplinary and patient-centric approach for developing treatment methods to serve patients.

Rishi Kapil, who had worked under the guidance of Bhoop and Sanju Dhawan from UIPS, was the recipient of this award in 2012.
