Those promoted to the rank of Inspector General of Police with effect from January 1 this year include Dr Naresh Kumar, Ram Singh, and SS Srivastava.
1994-batch IPS officers on central deputation Parveen Kumar Sinha, B Chandra Shekhar, Amardeep Singh Rai, Nirja Varuvaru and Anita Punj have been granted performa promotion to the rank of IG also from January 1, 2012.
The government also promoted S. Bhupati, Nilambri Jagadale Vijay, Bikrampal Singh Bhatti and Rahul S as SSPs.
The government ordered the posting of Jatinder Jain as Inspector General (intelligence and counter intelligence) at Bathinda.
Meanwhile, the government also issued transfer orders of 11 police officers, appointing senior IPS officer Babul Lal Meena as Commandant 7th Battalion of the Punjab Armed Police, Jalandhar.
The other officers with fresh postings include Shavinder Singh (Commandant 7th IRB, Kapurthala), Rajinder Singh (SP-Detective, Jalandhar Rural), Jaspal Singh (AIG/CI/Patiala), Gurmeet Singh (SP/CM Security), Sarabjit Singh (SP-Detective, Ropar), Satvir Singh Atwal (ADCP/Traffic Ludhiana), Gurdeep Singh Pannu (Commandant, CTC Bahadurgarh), Harjit Singh (ADCP Crime, Amritsar), Joginder Singh (ADCP-3, Ludhiana) and Ajit Singh (Assistant Commandant 6th IRB, Ladda Kothi, Sangrur).
