Punjab notifies skill development mission

The Punjab government on Sunday notified the constitution of 29-member Punjab Skill Development Mission under the chairmanship of the chief minister to formulate schemes and implementation initiatives across departments to make youth employable.

The Punjab government on Sunday notified the constitution of 29-member Punjab Skill Development Mission under the chairmanship of the chief minister to formulate schemes and implementation initiatives across departments to make youth employable.

The state government aims at providing 1 lakh youth with skill training every year. An official spokesperson said here on Sunday that the 29-member governing council would include ministers for technical education and industrial training, finance and planning, industry and commerce, labour, employment generation, rural development and panchayat, local government, health and family welfare, SC/BC (Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes) welfare, social security, and school education; besides the administrative secretaries of respective departments.
