Hisar and Karnal, in Haryana recorded a maximum of 35.5 degree celsius and 32 degrees, dipping by 3 degrees below the normal, the meteorological office said here on thursday.
Narnaul recorded a sharp drop in temperature as it settled at 29.3 degree, going down by 8 degrees. In Rohtak, Bhiwani and Ambala recorded temperatures of 32.7, 32.8 and 35.8 degrees respectively.
While places in Punjab recorded rise in mercury, Amritsar, Patiala and Ludhiana recorded temperature of 37.6, 35.1 and 34.9 degrees respectively. Chandigarh, however, reported a maximum temperature of 35 degrees.
The meteorological department office has forecast moderate to heavy rain or thundershowers at several places in the two states over the next two days.
