Savita Bhatti joins AAP
Savita Bhatti, wife of late comedian Jaspal Bhatti today joined the Aam Admi Party. she filled in her membership form at her residence in sector-19 in Chandigarh on Monday. Savita Bhatti, wife of late comedian Jaspal Bhatti on Monday joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). She filled in her membership form at her residence at Sector-19 here. The party has recently gained momentum in the city and had got more than 70,000 members from the city.
She is also the front runner for the Lok Sabha ticket from the party
Soon after joining the AAP, while talking to Hindustan Times, Bhatti said, "We have lived as Aam Aadmi and have also highlighted the corruption issues."
"While joining the party, I feel Jaspal Bhatti, my husband is with me in this decision." she said, adding, " We will continue carrying the tirade against corrpution and the legacy left by him."
The newly- born party, which held its first public rally in the city on Sunday, addressed by its national executive member Yogendra Yadav, continues to attract people from different walks of life given its appeal and agenda.
Though AAP is preparing to enter the electoral battle in the next Haryana assembly elections, it has also invited applications for the lone Chandigarh parliament seat as well. An AAP functionary on Monday said that with the joining of Savita Bhatti the party has set a trend of artists coming into its fold.
