That’s exactly what Channel V’s new show, The Serial, brings to the table. Actor Karan Kundra and daily soap girl Soumya Seth, who will also be a part of the show, were in Chandigarh on Wednesday for the promotion of the same.
Giving details about the show, Jalandhar boy Karan Kundra says, “It’s a first of its kind concept, where India’s most popular stars will play themselves. From showing us partying to giving details about our real life—the show will serve as a pleasant surpriser! Not just the youth, but also the people who follow saas-bahu shows will love it.” The show will feature 48 episodes over a period of three months.
Karan, who started his career with a daily soap, is not a fan of the genre anymore. “Daily soaps are not my cup of tea. I love to experiment and that’s what I’m doing. I will either fail or succeed on the basis of these experiments. For me, creative satisfaction is indispensable; I keep feeding myself with new things,” says he.
Karan was also the producer and host of his previous show, Gumrah, about which he says, “At the time of Gumrah, everyone told me it won’t work, but it did. Let’s not follow the trend; do something new! The audience will appreciate it.”
About Pollywood (Karan was last seen in Pure Punjabi), he says, “I will be seen in three Punjabi movies which will most probably release in 2013.”
