There is no relief in sight for Shah Rukh Khan, who has been shooting non-stop for his upcoming film, Chennai Express. The entire unit has been working overtime as the Rohit Shetty directorial, which is set for an Eid release this year, is apparently running 15 to 20 days behind schedule.

Now, the latest news is that the film’s leading lady, Deepika Padukone (inset), can only dedicate a few weeks to this shooting schedule. “From mid-April onwards her dates have been blocked by Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Ram Leela. The makers tried getting the dates rescheduled, but it wasn’t possible, which is why no one has any time to waste,” informs a source from the film.

As a result, Shah Rukh, too, has been left with no option but to put in extra hours. “He was so busy focusing on the shoot in Wai that he didn’t even accompany his family to Phuket for Arjun and Mehr’s (Rampal) wedding anniversary bash,” says an insider.

However, the actor did take out time to drop his family to the airport. “He needs to finish as much work on Chennai Express as he can because he needs to make time for the Indian Premier League (IPL), as his company is putting together the opening ceremony,” says the source. SRK remained unavailable for comment.
