Suresh Arora is new Punjab VB chief

The newly installed SAD-BJP government appointed director general of police (DGP) Suresh Arora as the new chief director of the state's Vigilance Bureau. He succeeds batchmate Sumedh Singh Saini, who has been appointed the new state DGP.

The newly installed SAD-BJP government on Saturday appointed director general of police (DGP) Suresh Arora as the new chief director of the state's Vigilance Bureau. He succeeds batchmate Sumedh Singh Saini, who has been appointed the new state DGP.

A 1982-batch IPS officer, Arora was awaiting posting orders since Thursday, when Saini was given his new posting. Considered a confidant of chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, Arora was the chief of the state police's intelligence wing during the 2007-2012 tenure of the SAD-BJP government.
