Heera Negi, senior deputy mayor, area councillor inaugurated the campaign.
On this occasion, a pledge was administered to residents to keep their houses and surrounding areas neat and clean.
The area residents were sensitised about safe disposal of municipal solid waste.
The door-to-door collectors were instructed to deposit the solid waste in the Sehaj Safai Kendras or demarcated garbage containers.
People were told not to litter in streets or open spaces to maintain cleanliness.
The drive was launched in addition to regular sanitation by safaikaramcharis under the supervision of the area health supervisor or chief sanitary inspector.
