3 BJP teams to travel across Karnataka with an eye on 2023 polls
Each team has between six to seven, members which includes ministers, legislators and party workers that will travel for two days starting Tuesday and wind up the visits by April 22, said Singh on Monday.
With an eye on the 2023 assembly elections in the state, the Bharatiya Janata party has set up three teams headed by chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, state unit president, Nalin Kateel, and national general secretary and incharge of the state, Arun Singh, to visit all the assembly constituencies over the next 10 days and meet party workers and take stock of the issues on the ground.
Each team has between six to seven, members which includes ministers, legislators and party workers that will travel for two days starting Tuesday and wind up the visits by April 22, said Singh on Monday.
“These teams will meet MLAs and party workers to review the organisational work in each constituency. They will spend two days in the districts allocated to them and at the end of their visit there will be a sabha of workers where a review of the organisation will be conducted and the weakness and strengths of the organisation assessed,” Singh said.
The visiting teams will also assess the popularity of the union and state government schemes on the ground and based on the feedback from party workers they will examine if any existing policy needs to be tweaked.
“The teams will study the popular schemes and draw a roadmap for the future,” Singh said.
In the team headed by Bommai hour former union minister Sadananda Gowda, union minister Pralhad Joshi, minister, CN Ashwath Narayan, and BY Vijayendra and among others.
Former chief Minister BY Yeddyurappa, is in the team headed by Singh while ministers KV Eshwarappa, V Somanna and Vijay Simha,
MP will be in Kateel’s team that will travel to Mysore on 12th and 13 April: Bellary on 19th and 20th and Dharwad on 21 and 22.
Singh’s team will travel on these dates to Belgaum, Dhavangiri, and Bangalore rural and the chief minister’s team will be visiting Bangalore, Shimoga and Kalburgi.
Change in the council of ministers of the state is also expected in the coming weeks. The central leadership of the BJP has given the go-ahead to chief Minister Bommai to carry out the exercise ahead of the elections. In the wake of a series of controversies including over the ban on wearing Hijab in schools, the Central leadership has also asked the chief minister to ensure that the election is fought on the planks of development and social schemes.
