Prajwal Revanna’s first reaction: “Outside Bengaluru, need 7 days to..," he says

Days after facing the allegations of sexual abuse and fleeing the country, Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna responded for the first time on the issue. Through his team of advocates, Revanna informed that he is not in the country to appear for the SIT investigation and sought seven days time.

In a clarification letter posted from Prajwal Revanna’s X handle, his team of advocates said, “We are informed by the family of my client Mr. Prajwal that a notice dated 30-04-2024 was pasted at the house of my client and it asked him to attend for the investigation before May 1. But Prajwal Revanna is on a trip outside Bengaluru, and he is informed about the notice. My client needs 7 days to come to Bengaluru and appear before him as per the notice. I kindly request the authorities to consider.” Prajwal further said that “truth will prevail soon.” Prajwal Revanna’s father, HD Revanna who is also accused in the sexual abuse case sought four days to appear for the investigation.

Meanwhile, Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking him to take necessary steps through the ministry of external affairs so that Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna can return to India to join the probe into the allegations of sex videos.

"While the SIT is working round the clock to investigate the allegations of crimes against several woman by Prajwal Revanna, getting him back to the country is of utmost importance so that he faces investigation and trial as per the law of the land," Siddaramaiah wrote in his letter to PM Modi.

He also accused former prime minister HD Devegowda of helping his grandson to flee the country. Siddaramaiah said, “How did Prajwal get a visa and passport? Did he go without the knowledge of the central government? HD Devegowda is aware of everything, and he sent him abroad with a plan.”
