GMCH-32 centre to issue disability certificates to NEET persons with disabilities candidates

No other certificate except the one generated through the MCC portal in online mode will be accepted at the time of admission, read the notice

The directorate general of health services released a list of 16 designated disability NEET screening centres, that will issue disability certificates as per the National Medical Commission (NMC) norms to persons with disabilities (PwD) in support of their claim to avail 5% PwD reservation in undergraduate and broad specialty post-graduate courses. Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32 of Chandigarh has been listed as one of the centre.

In the notice, the directorate said all candidates who have registered themselves under PwD quota in NEET-2023 National Board of Examination (NBE) form are hereby informed that the PwD portal for the generation of PwD certificates by the designated disability NEET screening centres is now open.

“Hence, the candidates who are desirous to get a PwD seat through the Medical Counselling Committee may get the disability certificate issued from any one of the designated NEET disability screening centre through online mode only. However, the candidates have to visit the designated disability NEET screening centres for physical examination and quantification of their disability and obtain PwD certificate generated online by the centre. No other certificate except the one generated through the MCC portal in online mode will be accepted at the time of admission,” it reads.

Other centres in the list include Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjang Hospital in New Delhi, All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AIIPMR) in Mumbai, Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research in Kolkata, Madras Medical College (MMC) in Chennai, Grant Government Medical College in Mumbai, Goa Medical College in Goa, Government Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram, SMS Medical College in Jaipur, Government Medical College in Agartala, Institute of Medical Sciences, Varanasi, Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities in Mumbai, AIIMS, in Nagpur, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Lady Hardinge Medical College and Associated Hospitals in New Delhi and All India Institute of Speech and Hearing in Mysuru.
