After holding the written test on December 18, the Chandigarh Police will conduct the physical endurance and measurement test for recruitment of 49 assistant sub-inspectors (ASI, executive cadre) on February 6.
After a gap of 13 years, the Chandigarh Police have released vacancies for 49 posts of ASI, of which 27 are for men, 16 for women and six for army personnel. The roll numbers of the candidates who have qualified for the physical endurance and measurement test have been shared on the website of Chandigarh Police: http://chandigarhpolice.gov.in. The test will be held at Police Lines, Sector 26, from 10 am onwards.

Panchkula youth held with illegal pistol, cartridges
Police arrested a 20-year-old man with a country made .315 bore pistol and three live cartridges near a bus stand in Haryana’s Raipur Rani on Sunday. The arrested person, identified as Vishal, is from Shahpur village in Raipur Rani. A case was registered and the accused was taken into one day police remand.
Community centre in P’kula’s Sec 10 to seat 600
A grant of ₹7.50 crore has been allotted for construction of a community centre in Sector 10, Panchkula, as per an official statement from mayor Kulbhushan Goyal. It will have a sitting capacity of 600 people, and kitchen and pantry.
2-day training programme being at NIPER
A two-week training programme on “pharmaceutical GMP audits and self-inspections” started at National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali, on Monday. A total of 19 participants from 11 countries with background in drug regulation, pharmacy and quality control are attending the programme. Resource persons from the pharmaceutical industry, academia and regulatory agencies will be delivering lectures.
Ranji Trophy: Chandigarh aims for first win on home ground
Sector 16 Cricket Stadium is all set to host its first match in the Ranji Trophy season 2022-23. Playing on the home ground, UT boys will toil for registering their first win in the tournament against Vidarbha in their fifth fixture. A day before the match, Union Territory Cricket Association (UTCA) president Sanjay Tandon reviewed the ground as well as the arrangements on Monday. Tandon met Vidarbha coach Sanjeev Sharma along with team management of Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) during the practice session and wished both the teams for better performance.
