A purported video showing motorcycles being ridden inside the skating rink, opposite Sacred Heart Convent School, has also surfaced. Parents said the presence of bikes inside the facility, where children train regularly, could put them at risk of being hit or injured.
Nipul Jain, whose nine-year-old daughter Heenal practises at the rink, said he had recently complained to the Municipal Corporation and police after people allegedly began bringing motorcycles into the facility.
“We send our kids there for training, but some people have been troubling the children by riding bikes in the rink,” Jain said. He alleged that when children and parents asked the riders to stop, they argued with them and even attempted to engage in physical confrontation.
Jain also alleged that the men were recording videos of girls while they were practising at the rink, raising further concerns over the safety and privacy of the children. He further alleged that repeated written complaints to municipal commissioner Ojasvi Alankar regarding the issue have yielded no action. He also lodged a complaint at the Division No. 5 police station.
Sub-inspector Hamraj Singh, SHO of Division No. 5 police station, did not respond to calls seeking comment.
Alankar also did not respond to repeated calls and messages seeking her response to the allegations.
