Police said 13 teachers from Jalalabad in Fazilka district, posted in government schools of Tarn Taran district, were travelling in the Force Trax Land Cruiser, a 10-seater multi-utility vehicle, when it collided with a Punjab Roadways bus near Khai Pheme Kee village, 8km from Ferozepur, on the Ferozepur-Fazilka road at 8.30am.

The three teachers and the driver of the MUV died on the spot, while the rest of the 10 teachers were injured and hospitalised.

Ferozepur deputy commissioner Rajesh Dhiman met the injured teachers at a private hospital and said the Red Cross would be ensuring medical assistance to them.

A case was registered against the absconding bus driver.
