Arora was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on May 9 following raids in connection with an alleged 100-crore GST fraud-related money laundering case involving certain entities linked to him. His portfolios — industries and commerce, investment promotion, power and local government — were allocated to other ministers on May 11.

Both leaders met Arora in jail on May 23 as well.
