Punjab schools to host events in tribute to four Sahibzadas
Punjab education minister Harjot Singh Bains irected the PSEB officials to ensure the pedagogical material was meticulously prepared and duly vetted by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to ensure historical accuracy, reverence and authenticity.
Honouring the unparalleled bravery and sacrifice of the four Sahibzadas, the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) is all set to host a three-day educational session to imbue young minds with the valorous and rich Sikh history.
Announcing this on Saturday, Punjab education minister Harjot Singh Bains said all schools, including government, private and aided, will observe a specially curated educational programme on the life and martyrdom of the four Sahibzadas — Baba Ajit Singh, Baba Jujhar Singh, Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh — from December 22 to 24, featuring a 15-minute session in daily morning assemblies.
He directed the PSEB officials to ensure the pedagogical material was meticulously prepared and duly vetted by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to ensure historical accuracy, reverence and authenticity.
He said the PSEB headquarters will also host spiritual and historical discourses daily, alongside Kirtan Darbar evenings (4 pm to 6 pm) to be performed by school students.
“The educational sessions are designed to immerse students in a golden chapter of Sikh history, exploring Guru Gobind Singh’s departure from Qila Anandgarh Sahib and the events that led to the Saka Sirhind, highlighting Punjab’s rich heritage,” the minister added.
