‘Democracy won’: Arvind Kejriwal after big SC win in 'power' tussle with LG
Delhi chief minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal thanked the Supreme Court for delivering justice in the battle for power with Centre.
After the Supreme Court ruling in favour of the Delhi government regarding power over services, except law and order and land, Aam Aadmi Party chief and chief minister Arvind Kejriwal hailed the verdict.

Extending his gratitude to the SC for delivering ‘justice’, he tweeted that the decision will help boost the national capital’s pace of development. He also noted the victory of democracy.
He wrote, “Heartfelt thanks to the Hon'ble Supreme Court for doing justice to the people of Delhi. With this decision, the pace of development of Delhi will increase manifold. Democracy won.”
According to news agency ANI, Kejriwal has also called for a meeting of his ministers today following the SC decision.
A constitution bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud said that in a democratic form of government the real power of administration must rest with the elected government. It refused to agree with the 2019 judgement of Justice Ashok Bhushan that the city government has no power over the issue of services.
The unanimous verdict is being seen as a big win for AAP in its tussle for power with the Centre.
