In a post on X, news organisation 4 PM News Network said its journalists, including Shaheen Khan, had gone to cover an event where CM Gupta was present. As Shaheen was asking the CM a question, “Delhi Police caught hold of her at that point and took her to the police station while beating her”. In an accompanying video, Shaheen said her colleague was also hit with lathis.
DCP (south) Anant Mittal said, “The allegations are baseless. They were briefly detained for violating VVIP route. By the time they were taken to station, the route had again opened for public and we told them that they can go but they started fighting.”
