Madrasa teacher rapes 8-year-old in J’khand
According to Simdega superintendent of police Sourabh, who goes by a single name, the crime was committed on Sunday when the student had gone to the madrasa for attending a class.
A madrasa teacher was arrested on Monday for allegedly raping an eight-year-old student on the premises in Kolebira town of Jharkhand’s Simdega district, a senior police officer said.

According to Simdega superintendent of police Sourabh, who goes by a single name, the crime was committed on Sunday when the student had gone to the madrasa for attending a class.
He said the student’s parents filed a complaint at the Kolebira police station on Monday based on which, they registered an FIR against the teacher under relevant Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, 2012.
“The accused has been arrested. All other legal formalities are being done,” said the SP.
Another officer familiar with the matter said the parents alleged that the student had gone to the madrasa on Sunday evening for Urdu classes along with other students. However, the teacher asked only the girl to stay back after class asking and when they were alone, he allegedly raped her.
“The accused asked the girl not to tell anyone about the incident, threatening her that he would use spirits to get her parents killed. However, the survivor reached her house crying and narrated the incident to her mother,” said the officer.
The family of the survivor approached the madrasa committee which decided to get the case registered against the teacher, the officer added.
