Amid the furore over the death of a 20-year-old in Delhi's Kanjhawala, who was killed after being dragged for several kilometres on Sunday morning, a fresh case of violence against a woman has now shocked the capital.
A 21-year-old woman was stabbed allegedly by her friend in northwest Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar on Monday for ending their relationship.

Swati Maliwal, chief of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), said in a tweet in Hindi, “A boy stabbed a girl in Delhi's Adarsh Nagar in broad daylight after she rejected the relationship. Do you think any criminal-minded person is afraid of the police or law now?”
A 19-second video shared by news agency ANI showed a man and a woman walking together for some distance. After stopping abruptly, the man attacked the woman, after which she fell to the ground. The footage is unclear and does not show the weapon used.
The incident was reported on Monday and the 22-year- old accused has been identified as Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha, a resident of Adarsh Nagar.

Police said the woman ended the relationship due to objections from her family and stopped talking to the man. When she informed Singh about her decision, he allegedly stabbed her multiple times and fled.
The accused was arrested a day after the incident with the help of technical surveillance from Haryana’s Ambala. The victim is undergoing treatment at a Delhi hospital and is stable, police said.
