L-G directs DDA to prepare plan to decongest Dwarka

Delhi’s lieutenant governor Anil Baijal on Tuesday directed the Delhi Development Authority to conduct a comprehensive survey of Dwarka to prepare its decongestion plan.
The land-owning agency has roped in School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) to suggest solutions to decongest the sub-city and improve its connectivity with other parts of the city.
A presentation on the Comprehensive Traffic & Transportation plan of Dwarka Sub-city was made by SPA on Tuesday.
Hindustan Times had on February 5, 2019, had reported that DDA had roped in SPA to do a comprehensive study and suggest ways to address the traffic congestion problem.
“It was emphasised to focus on intercity and intracity linkages of Dwarka Sub-city with the rest of the Delhi, intra city-NMT (non-motorised Transport), enhanced accessibility to the urban villages, para transit, local area parking management, intelligent traffic management and multi-modal integration in the plan of all metro stations,” read the statement released by LG office.
The comprehensive study will be completed by June 2020.
