Kanpur violence: UP Police releases first poster of 40 key suspects
A contact number is also given in the poster that people can use to reach out to the department with leads.
The Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday released the first poster carrying pictures of key suspects of the violence clash that broke out in Kanpur a few days ago. The poster displays photographs of 40 suspects based on inputs gathered from close-circuit cameras. The state police sought help from the public to help trace the suspects.

A contact number is also given in the poster that people can use to reach out to the department with leads.
The violence in Kanpur erupted on June 3 in the Pared, Nai Sadak and Yateemkhana areas of the city when some people belonging to the minority community tried to force shopkeepers to down shutters in protest against remarks made by former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma against Prophet Mohammed during a TV debate.
So far, 38 arrests have been made in the case that had injured at least six people.
"We have identified about 100 more stone-pelters and rioters through CCTV footage and video clips," said Anand Prakash Tiwari, additional commissioner of police, law and order.
Search operations are underway and raids are also being conducted at all possible hideouts to arrest rioters at the earliest, he added.
Hashmi, suspected to be the mastermind of the violence, was arrested from Hazratganj area of the state capital on Saturday, police said.
The remarks by the now-suspended BJP spokesperson have also drawn criticism from West Asian countries, with Saudi Arabia being the latest country to make its objections to the comment. Earlier, Iran, Kuwait and Qatar had summoned Indian envoys over the matter.
