Now govt e-buses can be hired for private rides in U.P.’s Prayagraj
These e-buses can be booked for a duration of 12 and 24 hours and the user will have to pay ₹12,784 for 12 hours and the bus can ply 180 km during the booked period
Luxury electric buses of the transport department, plying on different routes of Sangam city, will now be available for group booking too. Be it for a picnic by a school or taking family and relatives for a marriage ceremony, people here can book these fully AC and luxury buses as per their needs.
“To enhance our earning and for the welfare of the common man, the department has decided to start booking of the e-buses for marriages as well,” said Prayagraj regional manager (RM), Uttar Pradesh State Regional Transport Corporation (UPSRTC), Manoj Kumar Trivedi.
“These e-buses can be booked for a duration of 12 and 24 hours,” he added. The user will have to pay ₹12,784 for 12 hours and the bus can ply 180 km during the booked period. At the time of booking, 25% of this fee will have to be deposited as advance. The bus can be booked for 24 hours too, which will have two slots, each of 12-hour durations, officials said.
“Presently, the city has a fleet of 51 e-buses which are operating on different routes. These buses, having the capacity to run for 180 km in single charge, can be booked for running within the district owing to technical constraints,” said RM Trivedi.
For booking of buses, the application will have to be attached by attaching the marriage card or the covering letter of the school or the institution concerned. The official clarified that for meeting out the demand for these group bookings, the buses which are presently running at different routes will not be reduced. Only reserved buses will be booked and the booking will be done from the charging station located at Naini only.
