Temporary hospitals, doctors on round-the-clock duty for investors summit

Thousands of investors and their team members are expected to stay in Lucknow between February 9 and 12 for the summit

Two temporary hospitals will be made for the upcoming investor summit in the state capital, one at the tent city and other at the summit venue.

“The hospitals will have staff on round-the-clock duty for the entire event. Equipment to cater to serious or sudden illnesses will be available and a fleet of ambulances will also be deployed at the venue on rotation,” said Yogesh Raghuvanshi, district health education officer.

Thousands of investors and their team members are expected to stay in Lucknow between February 9 and 12 for the summit and the health department has made arrangements of specialists including cardiologists, surgeons and paramedical staff who shall be deployed on rotational basis at the two make-shift hospitals. “Any one in need of medical care will be attended immediately,” Raghuvanshi said.

“The idea behind setting up of medical services at the programme venue is to provide timely medical care to needy and reduce risk of further damage to the body due to illness or injury,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary general association of international doctors.

Apart from the staff from the government health centres, two private hospitals will also coordinate medical services at these hospitals during the summit. The authorities at Balrampur and Lok Bandhu hospitals as well as Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences have been asked to keep doctors on alert as patients might be shifted here for better care.

Each hospital will have a nodal officer from the health department who shall be responsible for maintaining adequate stock of medicine, ensure availability of staff and equipment, officials said.
