Yogi launches UP Police song, says security has given state a new identity
The programme also featured a screening of a cybercrime awareness film starring Nana Patekar and directed by filmmaker Raj Shandilyaa. The film seeks to educate citizens about online fraud and other emerging cyber threats.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said security was the foundation of good governance and asserted that the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards crime and criminals had helped transform Uttar Pradesh’s image over the past nine years.
He was speaking at Lok Bhavan after unveiling the Uttar Pradesh Police song ‘Khaki Ka Sitara’.
“Over the past nine years, the image of Uttar Pradesh has changed, and the sense of security has played an important role in giving the state a new identity,” he said.
“There has been zero tolerance towards crime and criminals, and the government will do whatever is required for this,” he said, adding that Uttar Pradesh had remained free from riots and curfews during this period.
He particularly highlighted the police operation in Farrukhabad in which 22 children were trapped inside a perimeter surrounded by detonators. Praising the force, Yogi said the children were safely rescued while the criminals involved were killed in an encounter.
The police song features megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s voice, while singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan has provided vocals and music. The lyrics have been penned by writer and lyricist Alok Srivastava.

The event was attended by senior government and police officials and members of the media. Shankar Mahadevan and Nana Patekar were also present on the occasion.
