Mumbai: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai has achieved a 100% placement record for its 2025 batch, with two students securing a salary package of ₹54 lakh per annum, the highest this year, from Microsoft.

A total of 480 students, including 377 males and 103 females, secured placements this year. The number of participating companies, at 198, was 10% higher than the previous year, when 180 companies participated in the placement process.
“The top 10% of the 2025 batch secured an average salary of ₹47.5 lakh per annum while the top 20% and top 50% secured packages of ₹41.2 lakh and ₹34.1 lakh per annum, respectively,” said Vartika Shrivastava, placement officer, IIM Mumbai. The overall increase in salary packages compared to last year was around 5%, reinforcing the growing industry demand for IIM Mumbai graduates, the officer noted.
Many companies opted for bulk hiring this year, including Accenture which hired 41 students at salary of ₹45.37 lakh per annum, PwC India which hired 18 students and PwC US Advisory which hired 10 students from the campus.
Placements in the pharma and healthcare sectors (80) rose by a whopping 130% compared to last year while retail and e-commerce placements rose by 47.73% compared to last year, reflecting the boom in online shopping and digital-first business models.
Prof Manoj Tiwari, director, IIM Mumbai, said the transition from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) to IIM Mumbai had significantly boosted the institute’s placement outcomes.
“The enhanced brand presence of IIM and the growing job market in Mumbai have provided students with greater exposure to a wide range of opportunities. In addition, IIM Mumbai’s focus on better student selection and a more robust training programme has led to stronger placement results,” said Tiwari.
This year’s 100% placement record is a testament to the hard work and dedication of students, faculty, and corporate partners, said the director. “We remain committed to maintaining and strengthening our position as a leading business school that equips our students with the skills necessary to excel in the global job market,” he added.
