Mumbai: Several pockets of the city across Dharavi, Andheri east, areas around the airport and Bandra east (G North, K East and H East wards) will face low-pressure water supply, along with changes in regular water supply timings, for nearly four days starting Monday, December 22. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is beginning a major water pipeline connection work from 10 am on December 22 to 1 am on December 26, spanning 87 hours.

According to the civic body, the pipeline work involves the 2,400-mm Upper Vaitarna main water pipeline, which was shifted for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority’s Metro Line 7A project.

A BMC official said, “The operation is critical and will be carried out in a planned manner while adhering to technical norms to minimise inconvenience to residents. Citizens should store adequate water in advance, use water sparingly during the period, and as a precautionary measure, boil and filter drinking water for the next few days.”
