The arrested accused is identified as Arshad Nurul Khan, 32. The other two – who are absconding – are identified as Arfat Khan, 25, and Mortuzha Khan, 46.

Police have recovered 1.30 lakh from Arshad and have also seized his auto rickshaw.

According to the police, the complainant, Shashikant Dagle, who along with Sushil Talele runs a trust – Manjuldhara Education and Social Organisation – alleged in their complaint that the incident occurred on Friday afternoon when they reached near Rajawadi hospital. The victim alleged in the police statement that they selected a piece of land for their trust in Kalyan and had even collected 25 lakh to purchase it.

On November 25, Dagale and Talele carried 25 lakh and documents to the Rajawadi area in Ghatkopar and were waiting for a person to collect the money. Meanwhile, two persons arrived in an autorickshaw (MH03-CN-2164) and snatched the bag containing the cash as well as their mobile phones. The complaint states that the snatchers claimed that they were policemen and were checking if the bag contained black money.
