Police said the victim’s family stated the boy was 12 to 13 years old. Police added that the exact age of the deceased person will be determined after the post-mortem examination.
According to police, preliminary investigation suggests the boy may have been distressed by an ongoing family dispute, though the exact reason behind the alleged suicide is yet to be ascertained.
Vijay Gupta, station house officer (SHO) of Badalpur station, said that around 10.15am on Saturday, police were informed by a hospital that a boy had attempted suicide at his residence.
“The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. Currently, it appears to be a case of suicide and there are no visible injury marks on the body. The post-mortem report will help ascertain whether there is any evidence suggesting otherwise. Appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings,” said Swatantra Kumar Singh, additional deputy commissioner of police (central Noida).
