Noida police’s traffic diversion plan ahead of Auto Expo 2023

The Noida traffic police released a traffic diversion and parking management plan ahead of the Auto Expo in Greater Noida’s Expomart, which will be open to the public from January 14 to 18 starting at 11am.

The 16th edition of the auto expo will see participation of over 114 industry stakeholders, including 48 vehicle manufacturers. The show is also expected to see over 75 vehicle launches and unveilings, including five global premieres, said officials.

The biennial automobile spectacle was last held in February 2020 and could not take place in 2022 because of Covid-19 pandemic.

The expo on January 11 and 12 will be reserved for the media while January 13 will be for businesses. Routes have been designated for vehicles coming from Delhi and Ghaziabad, among other areas. Organisers are expecting a footfall of more than 600,000.

According to the traffic plan, vehicles from Delhi will use the Noida-Greater Noida expressway and reach the Expomart roundabout from the exit at Galgotia. These vehicles will park at the designated space at the ‘large roundabout’ (bada golchakkar) and will use the expo’s shuttle service to reach the venue.

Vehicles from Ghaziabad will take the route from national highway 24 to Kisan Chowk, Bisrakh, Surajpur, LG roundabout, Sharda roundabout and reach the ‘large roundabout’ parking lot.

Meanwhile, vehicles coming from Agra, Mathura and other cities will reach the Galgotia exit from Zero Point and move forward towards the Expomart roundabout and large roundabout for parking.

Vehicles on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) will take the Sirsa roundabout, Kasba Kasna, Honda CL Chowk, Pi-3 roundabout, IFS villa roundabout to reach the Expomart roundabout and further towards the large roundabout. In case of higher traffic movement on the Noida-Greater Noida expressway, people can return from Expomart via an alternative route using the EPE through Sirsa roundabout.

In case of higher traffic near the Expomart roundabout, vehicles can take the service road from Hindon exit and go towards the Culture ministry T-point, Pusta road Accurate institute T-point and then the large roundabout parking space. The same route can be used on the return journey.

“We have made all necessary arrangements according to the expected crowd and have also prepared alternative routes. In case of medical emergencies, we have an action plan ready. Additional deployment is being done along the route to ensure traffic remains smooth, while we will also take help of the ITMS system. Regular traffic updates and bulletins will be provided though social media platforms, too. People should expect some waiting time at the Expomart roundabout due to higher traffic,” said Ganesh Prasad Saha, deputy commissioner of police, traffic.

Traffic police officers said people who have been issued passes by the organisers should use only their designated gates for entry. VIP and VVIP parking arrangements have been made within the Expomart premises. All heavy vehicles will be diverted away from the Expomart area throughout next week.
