Agra gears up for G20 meeting in August; DM holds meeting
The owners of Petha shops and these plots were called in the meeting and asked to cooperate in making the city look beautiful when foreign delegates come in month of August.
AGRA After successfully hosting the three-day visit of G20 delegates, the Agra administration has once again geared up for the meeting delegates of G20 nations scheduled in August. On Wednesday, Agra’s district magistrate Navneet Chahal presided a meeting at collectorate meeting hall and issued instructions in this regard.

The focus of the meeting was on the roads leading to the Taj Mahal and the uniformity in looks alongside stretches. DM Agra asked the owners of vacant plots to have boundary wall constructed for vacant lying plots ahead of August month. The owners of Petha shops and these plots were called in the meeting and asked to cooperate in making the city look beautiful when foreign delegates come in month of August.
Most of these vacant plots without boundary walls are alongside road connecting the ‘I Love Agra Selfie Point’ and Hotel Ramada on Fatehabad road in outskirts of Agra city. “The owners of Petha shops should have signage boards in uniform shape, size and colour. Colour and construction setting was also decided for constructions along the road connecting Ajeet Nagar Gate to Eidgah Bus Stand Crossing. The colours include -- terracotta and white, among others.
ADM City Anjani Kumar Singh, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Agra Nagar Nigam) Surendra Kumar Yadav, and Additional City Magistrate Rishi Rao were also present in the meeting. To recall, Agra successfully hosted the meeting of G20 delegates in February and deliberations were held on different subjects -- including ‘Art Culture and Better World” and ‘Women Empowerment”. Dr Mundipada Mahendrabhai, Union Ayush minister, had attended the meeting. Cultural events were also organised at Deewan-e-Aam in Agra Fort. Union minister Smriti Zubin Irani accompanied the delegates to the fort.
