Mukhtar Ansari’s wife Afsa Ansari, his son Abbas Ansari and brothers-in-law Atif Raza alias Sharjil Raza and Anwar Shahzad have been declared absconders in a case related to allegedly building an FCI godown on the land of scheduled caste people in Raini village under Dakshintola police station.

Abbas Ansari is Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) MLA.

Confirming the development, Mau superintendent of police Avinash Pandey said that if the accused don’t appear before the court or surrender, then we will take action to attach their property in the case.

A police officer said that action against Ansari’s wife, son and two brothers-in-law are being taken under Gangster Act by Dakshintola police. The accused are absconding in the case relating to building an FCI godown on the land of scheduled caste people in Raini village under Dakshintola police station.

Even after the arrest warrants were issued by the court neither anyone surrendered nor the police managed to arrest the accused.

A case under Public Property Damage Act on July 9, 2020, was registered against Ansari’s wife Afsa Ansari, brothers-in-laws Atif Raza alias Sharjil Raza and Anwar Shahzad along with Ravindra Narayan Singh and Zakir Hasain alias Vicky. On October 21, 2021, the charge sheet was filed in court.
