Bihar: 3 dead as bike rams into truck; cops say riders weren’t wearing helmets
The riders were not wearing helmets and died from the heavy blow they sustained on their heads, the police said
Three people were killed after the bike they were travelling by hit a truck coming from the opposite direction near Dummar Bridge on NH-31 under Kodha police station in Bihar’s Katihar district late on Sunday. They were returning to their village in Barari in Katihar when the accident took place.

The deceased have been identified as Guddu Rishi, Sonu Choudhary and Akhilesh Rishi – all in the age group of 20-25 years, and residents of Bhaisdiara.
“Two persons were killed on the spot while the third one died during treatment at Gerabari primary health centre... The riders were not wearing helmets and died from the heavy blow they sustained on their heads,” station house officer (SHO) Alok Roy said.
The SHO said the police are analysing CCTV footage to identify the truck. “The accident took place around 9pm,” he added.
A few days back, three people were killed after their bike hit a pile of bricks on the roadside near Dharmaili village in the same district.
“Most of these deaths are due to violation of traffic rules. Riding motorcycles without wearing a helmet has cost many lives,” the SHO said.
