Class 12 in Pune student jumps into canal after abandoning prelim exam

As per the police, the student completed her r prelim paper in haste, left the college premises, reached the canal area and jumped into the waters. The search for the girl is still underway

A female student of Class 12 jumped into a canal at Wadgaon on Sinhagad road on Monday, said police officials.

As per the police, the student completed her r prelim paper in haste, left the college premises, reached the canal area and jumped into the waters. The search for the girl is still underway.

Sinhagad Police Station Incharge Shailesh Sankhe ruled out the love affair angle in the case and said, “The girl had written ten to twelve lines of her computer science prelim exam paper. She left the paper midway, came to the spot near Regional Ward Office and jumped into the canal. After that she was neither seen nor spotted by anybody. We are working round the clock with the fire department including family members to trace the missing girl. There is a gauzed wire block on the water channel at Hadapsar and we have communicated to the local police station about the incident. Previously, bodies have been found at the spot which acts like a block to the big objects including human beings which get drowned in the canal waters ,” he said.

A missing persons case has been lodged at the police station. Police during their investigations have also not found anything suspicious in her mobile phone.
