International symposium on Buddhist culture, heritage in Pune

The event was held to shed light on different dimensions of Buddhist culture and heritage, its contemporary significance, and to understand the scope of further research in the field.

Kamlesh Kumar Maheshwari, a renowned scholar of Indian numismatic and INHCRF director, inaugurated the symposium. Renowned scholars professor Peter Skilling of Thailand and professor Asanga Tilakaratne of Sri Lanka participated at the symposium and guided students. Professor Yashdutta Alone of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), an expert in Buddhist art, architecture and history, presented research papers at the symposium. The event was also arranged online for interested participants.
