One person died and three others sustained minor injuries after a truck hit a bus and car on the Pune-Mumbai expressway on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Suresh Sakharam Khade (42), a resident of Beed, who was the truck driver.
According to the police, the accident took place at 10.30 am in Pune-Mumbai lane on the expressway near Khopoli. The truck was on its way to Mumbai from Pune. Near Khopoli at 36.800 km, the truck allegedly collided with a bus and car which resulted in the death of the truck driver.
Police suspect that the truck allegedly collided with other vehicles because of failed brakes. Police informed that two passengers from the bus and one from the car were injured and immediately rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
The highway police reached the spot and cleared the traffic in an hour.
