SPPU starts registration for citizens walking at campus

To ensure the safety of citizens, the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has issued a circular urging those who come daily to the SPPU premises for morning and/or evening walks and exercises to register themselves. Accordingly, citizens have to fill-in basic information in the registration form and only those who have officially registered will be allowed inside the university campus for exercises and daily walks.

As per the information shared by the SPPU administration, registration is compulsory for all those coming to the university premises daily, and it is free-of-cost. A separate system has been put in place for the registration process wherein citizens can visit the campus, give their basic details and register at two desks made available for the public near the student facility centre and security department main cabin. Once the form is filled in manually, it has to be submitted at the same desk.

Prafulla Pawar, registrar, SPPU, said, “The registration process is underway at these two desks and through a biometric system, admission will be given only to registered persons inside the SPPU campus. It is our appeal to people who come to the university daily or are willing to come to the university campus for exercises and walking to register themselves through this system.”
